The reason that so many have lost money in the stock market is that the would be stock market gurus would have you believe you should buy and hold. Problem is the hold part is never defined with a timeframe, since one knows they aren’t going to hold on to the stock indefinitely. Blankly holding a stock for 5, 10, 20, 30 years, has not proven to be the best strategy for producing a profitable portfolio. I can tell you from having traded the financial markets for nearly 10 years.

As you embark on the precarious course of day trading penny stocks, you should have a strong hold on fundamental strategies employed by savvy traders and exercise these schemes through dealing in paper (trading exercise with no money). Whether it’s the big 3 automakers or greedy mortgage lenders, it seems like those that are prudent always end up paying for the slackers. And I’ve made my own million or so mistakes (at least!), so I’m not judgeing anyone.
